Location
Bandipur is located west from Kathmandu, on the way to Pokhara, 143km to the west of Kathmandu and 80km east from Pokhara, a tourist town in central of Nepal. Bandipur has become one of the major tourist destinations for locals because of its traditional and old-time cultural atmosphere. It is 8km from Dumre.
Bandipur is the gem of central Nepal. Its architecture, views of the Himalayas and cave are its main attraction. Bandipur was strategic point of trade in between Tibet and India, until Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha conquered. After development of the highway and the moving of its district head quarter to Damauli, this mountain town was abandoned by its inhabitant, moving to Dumre and Pokhara, leaving Bandipur semi ghost town. But its relics and culture with typical Newari architects are untouched.

See the market area, its architectures, hike 30 minute to the hill top to see the Panoramic view of the Mountain, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and many more. Half day hikes leads you the beautiful Siddhagufa which is the largest cave in Nepal. You hold the rope and climb to the cave, its adventurous. Rock Climbers can enjoy testing their skill in the rocks. It has trails for mountain biking.
